Nous arrivons en Paris

Thursday, 5:20 pm Ann and I leave for Paris via Pittsburgh and Bostonto celebrate our 30 th wedding anniversary. The anniversary was last October 18, of course, but this date was a compromise with Kevin and Laurie, who are celebrating their 20th this coming fall.

Being a resets special, the flight was tiring, but we found the air France bus to l'arc de triumph with no problem and strolled to our hotel, the Best Western Regent Park, a few blocks away. A short nap later and we were ready to embark on our first adventures. We walked back to the arc, and paid the 9.5 E required to go to the top, where we had many wonderful views in all directions of the Etoile. Here are some photos of the views. Uh oh...having trouble with images...check back later.

This was inside the arc en route to the top!

Sacre coeur in the distance.

Busy champs élysées.

Le tour Eiffel.

Lotsa picture taking, under a watchful eye.

Next we strolled down the champs élysées and had dinner at an outdoor cafe. Very slow, but enjoyed the people watching. Next we strolled toward Franklin Roosevelt, then to the Seine and beautiful Pont Alexander...

Statue between trees..

Statue sur le grand Palais (I think).

These bridges are incredible!

Encroyable...

Et plus...

Et plus,

Alors, enfin...
